DMCA & Intellectual Property
Last updated: 2026-06-01
1. Purpose & Notice to Rights Holders
Animedle is a non-commercial fan project that pays homage to anime universes loved by its creator and community. All anime universes, character names, likenesses, and trademarks used on this site remain the exclusive property of their respective rights holders — including, without limitation, studios and publishers such as Shueisha, TOHO, Madhouse, Studio Pierrot, Kadokawa, and others. No definitive or exhaustive list is claimed here; rights holders who believe their work appears on this site are encouraged to contact us directly.
This page documents the procedure by which rights holders may request the takedown of any content they own that appears on Animedle.
2. Fair Use & Nominative Use
Animedle uses character names and likenesses for commentary, criticism, and reference within the context of an educational guessing game. This use is made in good-faith reliance on the fair use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107, United States) and the French exception for short quotation and parody (art. L. 122-5 Code de la propriété intellectuelle).
Revenue generated through advertising on Animedle is incidental to the non-commercial, educational nature of the project and does not transform its fundamentally fan-made character.
3. No Claim of Ownership over Third-Party IP
Mathis Lorenzo makes no claim of ownership over any anime universe, character name, character likeness, screenshot, or trademark that belongs to a third party. Any site assets depicting copyrighted characters are used in good faith and may be removed upon a valid request.
4. DMCA / Takedown Procedure
To request the removal of content you own, send a written notice to contact@animedle.eu containing all of the following:
- Your full legal name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The specific URL(s) on animedle.eu where the alleged infringement appears.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
5. Response Time
We are committed to responding to all facially valid takedown notices within 10 business days. Content that is the subject of a valid notice will be removed or disabled while the claim is being assessed.
6. Counter-Notification
Any user whose content has been removed may submit a counter-notification containing the same elements listed in Section 4 above, along with a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the content unless the rights holder notifies us that they have filed a legal action within 14 business days of receiving the counter-notification.
7. Repeat Infringer Policy
It is Animedle's policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly submit infringing content (for example, via the contact or suggestion form). We take intellectual property rights seriously and will act on credible, repeated infringement.
